December 21 is shaping out to be an interesting date! Anupam Kher shared a photo of the entire cast of The Accidental Prime Minister, a political drama that sees Kher play former Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, on Monday. The photo made even more headlines when trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted the cast picture with the release date of the film, December 21, 2018. Right on time to clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s much awaited flick Zero.
The photo features Anupam Kher, Aahana Kumra, Arjun Mathur, Divya Seth and Suzanne Bernert in character as Manmohan Singh, Priyanka Vadra, Rahul Gandhi, Singh’s wife Gursharan Kaur and Sonia Gandhi respectively. The poster doesn’t feature Akshaye Khanna, who plays Sanjaya Baru, whose book with the same title is the inspiration for the feature film.
Taran Adarsh tweeted "Arriving Christmas 2018. The Accidental Prime Minister, the political drama starring Anupam Kher, to release on December 21, 2018. Co-stars Akshaye Khanna, Suzanne Bernert and Aahana Kumra. Directed by Vijay Gutte. Here's a glimpse from the film."

Meanwhile, Aanand L Rai’s Zero, is also slated to release on the same date, leading to a potential box office battle between the two star-studded films. Zero is one of the most hotly anticipated films of the year, starring Shah Rukh Khan as a midget who apparently falls in love with Katrina Kaif’s character, a famous actress. The film also stars Anushka Sharma and this will be the second time the three of them have collaborated after Jab Tak Hai Jaan.
Both films have gained significant attention, even going up against huge ventures like Total Dhamaal and Simmba scheduled to be released in the same month. Only time will tell which one of these emerge victorious with the critics and at the box office.
